Hegboost.hc may be used in the last stages of the bioremediation
of petroleum hydrocarbons in contaminated land, when it is necessary
to add to Hegrem to achieve final biodegradation
of the more persistent organic compounds. (In many cases, Hegboost.hc
will not be necessary.) Hegboost.hc will also biodegrade hydrocarbons
spilled into water. Hegboost.hc augments the bacterial population in
place since it contains non-pathogenic and non-phytotoxic oil-degrading
bacteria. As with Hegrem, the bacteria in Hegboost.hc feed on the hydrocarbons
and degrade them to harmless by-products of metabolism.
BENEFITS
* Valuable adjunct to Hegrem to achieve very high rate of degradation
in difficult cases
* Used only when necessary to biodegrade persistent residual contamination
* Dilution ensures economy of use
* Simple application; no cumbersome precautions during use
* Can digest heavy tarry oils, coal tars, sludges, BTX and phenolics
* Digests short and long chain hydrocarbons
* Non-caustic, non-acidic, harmless to plants, animals and fish.
* Improves soil and water quality
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
A 400 c.c. bottle of Hegboost.hc may be mixed with 200 litres of water
to provide a large quantity of liquid which may be applied to contaminated
soil or water. If contaminants include significant quantities of chlorinated
hydrocarbons, Hegboost.ch should be used.
The mixture of Hegboost.hc and water should be applied to contaminated
land at the rate of 5 litres per cubic metre.
