PRESS RELEASE
September 1999
BOUCQUILLON TO MARKET OCBP's POLLUTION CONTROL PRODUCTS IN BELGIUM
& LUXEMBOURG
N.V. Boucquillon, Belgium's largest chemicals distributor and part
of the German Brenntag Group, has entered into a marketing partnership
with Oil Cleaning Bio-Products Ltd., the UK-based supplier of the
"Heg" pollution control materials, to act as the distributor in Belgium
and Luxembourg of OCBP's biodegradable absorbents, solvent substitutes,
oil spill response equipment, sealants and bioremediation products.
Commenting on the move, Jose Givron, Boucquillon's Speciality Chemicals
Manager, said: "We are very pleased to have entered into these arrangements
with OCBP. The growth of our speciality chemicals division is a key
part of our strategy. We are committed to promoting the "Heg" products
in the market and we are confident of success because they are outstanding
in the fields of pollution control and the bioremediation of contaminated
land and oily wastes."
Louis Steenackers, Branch Manager, Maintenance Products, who will
be responsible for the OCBP products in Belgium and Luxembourg, added:
"There are important possibilities, now that industry places an ever-greater
premium on reducing environmental impacts and on improving health
and safety at work. The provision of safe materials for these purposes,
instead of the harsh solvents and non-biodegradable absorbents still
commonly used, is part of the "greening" of industrial production
and procurement."
Richard Genochio, OCBP's Managing Director, commenting on the agreement,
said: " We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Boucquillon
in Belgium and Luxembourg. We are sure that our innovative "Heg" pollution
control products will help Boucquillon to meet the wider needs of
its customers, and that Boucquillon - within the Brenntag Group -
is the right company to bring our products to market. We look forward
to a long-term partnership with our new colleagues in Kortrijk and
Antwerp."
